With the high price of gas these days it is not as easy to get around as it used to be. People now think twice about road trips or even trips to the grocery store.

Now everyone can or wants to buy a more fuel efficient car but there are many things you can do to save gas in any car you drive.

10. Keep your car tuned according the manufacturer’s specifications.

9. Drive the speed limit.

8. Coast whenever possible. (It is ok to not be touching a pedal)

7. Put in the correct grade of fuel.

6. If the next light ahead is red already, do not race towards it then slam on the brakes.  The light will change green at the same time for everyone, no matter how fast you got there.

5. Don’t leave the car idling when you go into the store (even if it is just a minute).  This will also reduce auto theft.

4. Don’t leave your car warming up for 30 minutes in the winter mornings.  A few minutes should be fine for most cars.
