This is a quick review of my experience owning a 2004 Acura TL. This is not a review of the new one. I have not driven or seen the new one in person but I hope to soon.

I really enjoyed the TL. It had lots of power, good styling and a great stereo system.

It was as comfortable as many of the higher end BMWs and Mercedes. It is an often overlooked car when compared to the G35 which I think is unfair.

For the money (around $42,000 Canadian new) its value is fantastic. And it looks great too.

It has lots of room in the front and back, and is good for short drives, long drives, or flogging on the back roads. 258 BHP is plenty of power for a family sedan. These days you need 300+ for some reason. The seats were supportive and the adjustable lumbar was a lifesaver.

From the pictures you can see that I averaged 8 L/100km (35 MPG) over almost 40,000kms of driving. For such a big car and no fancy hybrid system it is great. And that is mixed city/highway, hence the average of “only” 58 km/h.

It is front wheel drive but ends up being a good thing in the winter. The torque could be heavy off the line but it was manageable.

With a set of proper winter tires the car was unstoppable in the snow or ice. I tried to play in a parking lot but the traction control was just too good. Note: It was switch off at the time and the parking lot was completely empty.

Overall I really enjoyed my TL and I plan to get another in the future.

Honda tries to have some fun with their cars. The make my current car choice of the Acura TL. It is now offered in a more powerful Type S package with more chrome, bigger breaks, sportier interior and of course a bigger engine.

The Honda S2000 is always a popular car. It has all the qualities of a great car. Near 50/50 weight, powerful engine, light weight, is a convertible and handles anything you throw at it. It is pretty small but the designers tried to have some fun with the smallness of the design.

Even the kids like the Honda’s. Looks like this little boy might be getting an ATV for a present one day soon!

The Honda Goldwing is a pretty serious cruising bike. It is a motorcycle with more features than many cars! It has navigation, A/C, satellite radio, CD player, heated leather seats and heated grips. Perfect for riding in the fall. It can get pretty cold on a bike with the air rushing past you.
